The Victoria Theatre is unlike any other theatre in the region. Built in 1901 as a concert hall, the Victoria Theatre is steeped in history and still retains many of its original features. Today the theatre is used for a wide range of events and prides itself on an exciting and varied programme.

Nick Doody is a veteran stand-up comic and writer originally from Bradford and, after years in London, now based in Calderdale. As a stand-up, he got off to a pretty good start by opening for the legendary Bill Hicks (at Bill’s request). Since then, he has gigged all over the world and still performs across the UK comedy circuit every week. He was Dave Gorman’s tour support on three tours. As a writer, Nick has written for all manner of TV and radio comedy shows, penning jokes for Rich Hall, Armando Iannucci, Lenny Henry, Rory Bremner, and even, on rare occasions, people like Joan Rivers, Chevy Chase and (once) Dolly Parton! And, of course, he writes material for himself, too. Nick created and co-wrote the BBC Radio 4 show, ‘Bigipedia’ and has a Sony Award and a Radio Comedy Award to his name.
