Creative Careers Toolkit

Creative health is part of the cultural sector that has received increased attention over the past few years. More and more research is being done that highlights how important creative activities are for our wellbeing, and working in this area involves a big range of careers.

Case Study: Creative Care

Everybody Arts worked in partnership with Creative Minds and South West Yorkshire Partnership Foundation Trust (SWYPFT) to deliver Creative Care, a unique project aimed at increasing the range, quantity and quality of creative activities available for inpatient service users to improve their mental health.

Since launching in June 2023, Creative Care recruited 24 artists across 17 acute wards in South West Yorkshire, delivering 3,000+ creative health sessions across a diverse range of arts activities, engaging service users 13,000+ times, and generating nearly 18,000 positive outcomes.

Career roles involved with the project included creative practitioners delivering the activities, administrators to schedule the activities, and project managers to secure the funding needed and organise the project.
