Youth Voice Consultation

Tell Us Your Thoughts and Ideas

Help us improve cultural activities for young people in Calderdale, and be entered into our prize draw for cultural treats!

The survey is for young people, their families and people who work with them, across all areas of Calderdale.

Your feedback will show us what is and isn't working, and how we can develop and improve Calderdale's cultural provision for children and young people. This is a chance for you to share your experiences and thoughts on cultural activities and education

By completing the survey, you can also enter a prize draw to win a pantomime ticket at the Victoria Theatre, a place at a workshop delivered by IOU Theatre or a place on Everybody Arts’ Teach + Inspire CPD course for art teachers (please see full terms and conditions below).

Would you rather take part through an interview, or as part of a facilitated session? We can arrange 1-1 calls or visits to guide you through the questions. Let us know by emailing Sammi at sammi@ignite-creativity.org.uk.

Supporting Youth Voice Survey

Whether you’re a parent or work or volunteer with young people in Calderdale, we want to hear from you.

Youth Voice Survey

We’d like to hear from all young people in Calderdale, but we’re especially keen to hear from 12-16 year olds.

We understand that your time is valuable, and we appreciate your willingness to contribute to this important initiative.

The survey is designed to be convenient and as time efficient as possible, taking approximately 15 minutes to complete - but you can spend a lot less or a lot longer depending on how much you’d like to tell us!

Please note, all information and data collected will be anonymised.

To learn more about how we will use your information, please read our Participant Information sheet, and email sammi@ignite-creativity.org.uk if you have any questions.

If you are interested in finding out more about how your school can get involved, please take a look at this information document.

The results of the consultation will be published as part of our Youth Voice report at the end of 2023, with insights into how we can develop and improve Calderdale's cultural provision for children and young people.

About Ignite Creativity's Youth Voice Project

Ignite Creativity is Calderdale’s Local Cultural Educational Partnership, and work to advocate for, support and strategically develop the cultural education of children and young people in Calderdale.

During 2023, we’re delivering a Youth Voice consultation. This is an exciting borough-wide insights gathering project that looks at the current state and perceptions of cultural educational provision for Calderdale’s children and young people.

Data gathered will be published in a Youth Voice report at the end of 2023. This will help the sector understand, plan and develop its cultural educational practices for young people in Calderdale.

Through Ignite Creativity's Youth Voice project, young people's ideas and opinions about culture will start to be amplified and impact the direction and provision of culture in Calderdale.

This work is part of Ignite Creativity's support of the development of year-round opportunities for cultural engagement, especially for disadvantaged children and young people, and to help strengthen the infrastructure to provide activities throughout the borough.

  • Let us know

Stage 1 of our Youth Voice project saw us gathering information about the range of cultural offers currently available for children and young people in Calderdale.

Art, music, dance, drama, gaming, writing: we know there’s no limit to creativity and culture so whatever's happening and wherever it's taking place, whether in school, online, a community venue or at the park, we asked you to let us know.

You can still contribute to stage 1 by filling out this form.

    What's next?

We're now moving onto stage 2 of the project, which sees us getting in touch with both Calderdale’s young people directly and those organisations and practitioners who support their cultural and creative learning to find out what their needs and interests are.

We’ll bring together everything that we find out in a report and share it with stakeholders at the end of 2023.

Find out more about stage 2 and how to get involved below!
